The Automatic Smoke Curtain SM5 design satisfies both commercial and industrial smoke control requirements. Its compact and flexible design offers many opportunities for modification to suit the requirements of any building.  

The Sm5 Smoke Curtain is ideal for engineered smoke evacuation systems.  Used primarily for smoke control at atriums and exit access stairways.


The system is available with T and corner pieces for corner situations. Partial or full deployment.

The Smoke Curtain SM5 can be linked to a fire detection system. It will remain hidden above the ceiling until it’s triggered by the general fire alarm, local smoke detectors, or loss of power.

Head box and fabric

The system incorporates a glass fiber fabric wound around a steel roller that incorporates a 24V permanent magnet roller. The roller assembly is encased in a galvanized steel head box, which can be fixed directly to the building’s structure. The fabric is silver grey and can be printed with custom signage per customer request.

Side guides

The Fire curtains can be supplied with or without side guides. Side guides can be integrated either into or onto a wall / soffit or into a recess / niche.

Bottom bar

A standard bottom bar is attached to the bottom of the curtain and serves to ensure that the curtain remains stable when unrolling.
