Fire Rated Smoke curtain SD
The Smoke and Fire Curtain SD is an automatic, gravity-drop barrier with integrated seals. The SD Curtain is ideal for atrium separation and can also be used in openings that can lead to rapid smoke migration.
Options
This vertically deploying opening protective is available with 1-hour and 3-hour fire protective ratings and carries UL 10D for up to 3 hours and UL 1784 for smoke and draft.
Operation
The Fire Protective Smoke SD will remain hidden above the ceiling until it’s triggered by the general fire alarm, local smoke detectors, or loss of power (Gravity Fail-Safe System).

THE SYSTEM INCLUDES:
Bottom bar
A standard bottom bar is attached to the bottom of the curtain and serves to ensure that the curtain deploys under gravity in a controlled manner (Gravity Fail-Safe).
Head box and fabric
The system incorporates a glass fiber fabric wound around a steel roller that incorporates a 24V permanent magnet roller. The roller assembly is encased in a galvanized steel head box, which can be fixed directly to the building’s structure. The fabric is silver grey and can be printed with custom signage per customer request.
Side guides
The side guides provide a seal between the sides of the curtain fabric and the walls, ensuring that any positive or negative pressures created by a fire will be resisted by the curtain. Side guides can be integrated either into or onto a wall / soffit or into a recess / niche.
